Dot-matrix widgets that keep time.

• Clock

  Big dot-matrix digits, 12- or 24-hour.

• Date

Day and date, rolling over at midnight on its own.

• Analog

A dot dial with hands, ticked by your launcher.

• Battery

  Charge level at a glance.

• Weather

Now, the next hours and the next days. Pick a city, or use your approximate location.

• Now playing

Title, artist, artwork and play, pause and skip. Uses notification access on your phone only.

• On the minute, every minute

Kanso Dot redraws its dot clocks at each minute boundary using Android’s alarm scheduler, without waking a sleeping phone. Turn the screen on and the clock catches up instantly. Allow “Alarms & reminders” for exact minute flips.

• No background services

No background services, no persistent notification and no wake-ups while your phone sleeps. Weather and battery refresh in short jobs that Android batches with other work. With no widgets placed, nothing is scheduled.

• No ads, no tracking

No ads, analytics, crash-reporting SDKs or accounts. The only data that leaves your phone is what a weather forecast needs: a location rounded to about 1 km. Read the privacy policy.

• Material You and palettes

Widgets follow your wallpaper colours with Material You, or use one of the built-in palettes. Light and dark follow your system theme.

Requires

Android 12 or later.

Permissions

All optional, asked only when needed: approximate location for “use my location” weather, and notification access for the now-playing widget.

Weather

Forecasts from MET Norway (the Norwegian Meteorological Institute). If a forecast can’t refresh, the widget shows how old it is.

Not updating?

Some phones restrict apps in the background. See the fixes for OnePlus, Xiaomi and Samsung.
